Chateau l'Eglise Bordeaux Superieure 2016 Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc
This was a real surprise for me, completely outperforming its price point and putting to shame the 2014 Saint-Émilion that I tasted alongside it (for twice the price). The style is everything you look for in Right Bank Bordeaux: buxom red fruit, polished and matured by time in barrel, and fine, medium to full-bodied structure, round and smooth. It's straight forward and there's no big back label story but it delivers on the price with gusto. Drink now to 2025.
