William Fevre Saint Bris Sauvignon Blanc 2017 from Burgundy
Sauvignon Blanc is the most famous white grape variety to come out of Bordeaux and it is grown all over France as well as across the planet, of course. What is less well known is that Saint Bris is the only part of Burgundy where Sauvignon Blanc is allowed to be grown. Saint Bris is only 20 minutes by car from Chablis (Chardonnay central) and the resemblance in this wine's style to Chablis is immediately obvious. Forget all the crazy capsicum and passion fruit aromas that develop on Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand, Sauvignon from Saint Bris is a dead ringer for Chablis with ultra fine aromatics and an electric line of acidity down its spine. This is an exquisite wine that I really recommend for you to try. If you like Chablis, you will love this.
