50 dollars: Boovability "Gustave" Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2001
There are not many 14-year-old Australian reds that look as beautiful as this! Gustave 2001 Shiraz is proof that Adelaide Hills Shiraz is at the forefront of contemporary Australian wine. The wine is still purple-hued from rim-to-rim and the primary fruit surge goes along way to disguising this wine's true age but there is a softness and gentility to the palate that speaks proudly of its credentials as a great wine in full maturity. This is a must-try wine!

Image above showing the waterfall near to the tiny Waterfall Gully Vineyard where we grew the Shiraz for Gustave 2001. The fame of the vineyard grew to such an extent that now its tiny annual production goes towards making Penfolds Grange, Australia's most overpriced, I mean, famous wine!!!!
