Domaine de Boede le Pavillon 2016 from the languedoc, Cinsault and Shiraz
This was a very pleasant surprise for a red from the sun-soaked Languedoc because what you expect is a fruit-bomb but what you get, well, yes, it is still fruit-driven, but like good Grenache from the Rhône this has a sleek elegance coupled to earthy complexity that makes for a very interesting drink. It's lusciously attractive and yet satusfyingly grounded too. Cork. Drink now to 2025. 14%.
