les Vignes de Bila-Haut WHITE, Cotes-du-Roussillon 2014
An absolutely delightful dry white with jasmine-floral nose and good crisp acidity. Covers all white wine bases. I worked at Bila-Haut as the cellar manager back in 2007 and fell in love with the Roussillon region and its wild and ancient vineyards, tanned by the sun and refreshed by the “Tramontane” wind and spellbinding views out over the Mediterranean, while the snowcapped peaks of the Pyrennees sparkled on the southern horizon. A true winemaking paradise with very reasonable wine prices due to the area’s wild obscurity and passionately independent people.
