Here are the details on each wine:

1. Domaine des Muretins Lirac 2018.
40% Grenache, 40% Shiraz, 10% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre.
Lirac is straight over the river from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and I've been saying for years that it's by far the best value appellation in the entire Rhône Valley. And what an extraordinary wine this is! Piercingly perfumed but not just fruit: hints of Iodine in the background, cherry jam, herbs, earth, and woody notes, some stalky whole-bunch aromas too, while the palate is at the medium end of full-bodied, with masses of tannin and sensational length. I had my bottle of this open on the bench for three days and it went from strength-to-strength. Domaine des Muretins is the home estate of winemaking duo François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier (see their Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, below) and this wine tastes to me like it is the one that gets the most thought and love of any in their portfolio. It has everything going on in it that a winemaker can possibly deploy and the result is a wall of sensory excitement. Maverick creativity at the cutting edge and one of the most interesting and delicious wines I have ever tasted. If you only buy one Rhône wine from me this year, make sure it is this. A "wow-wine" if ever there was. Unmissable.
Drink now to 2030 and beyond.
The post-arrival price will be $33.95. Today's pre-departure price is $27.95.

2. Ferraton Père et Fils "Samorëns" Côtes du Rhône red 2019.
80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz, 5% Cinsault.
Bright ruby-purple, intense rocky perfume and blueberry fruit, all sharply defined and compact. Palate is full, spicy, and smooth. Exceptional Côtes-du-Rhône of crowd-pleasing attractiveness.
Drink now to 2025.
The post-arrival price will be $24.95. Today's pre-departure price is $19.95.

3. Ferraton Père et Fils "Samorëns" Côtes du Rhône rosé 2020.
75% Grenache, 25% Shiraz and Cinsault.
Faint rose-petal pink, delicate aromas of cherry, red currants, and potpourri, while the palate is dry, juicy, and highly more-ish.
Drink now to 2023.
The post-arrival price will be $24.95. Today's pre-departure price is $19.95.

4. Ferraton Père et Fils "La Matinière" Crozes-Hermitage 2018.
100% Shiraz.
Exuberant black fruit with pronounced, buxom ripeness, signature Crozes black pepper spice, and concise purity. There’s some chewy tannin on the full-medium body that will support significant development in the cellar and enhance its meaty and earthy complexity. Textbook Crozes-Hermitage with  flair and suavity.
Drink now to 2028.
The post-arrival price will be $41.95. Today’s pre-departure price is $33.95.

5. Dauvergne-Ranvier Gigondas "Face Nord" 2017.
75% Grenache, 25% Shiraz.
It's like this wine has a mischievous sense of humour because when you put your nose to the glass the aromatics are genteel: stately Rhône perfume of dark fruit, spice, and herbs, intriguing, interesting - subtle even - and the kind of wine that draws you into the glass, so then you take a sip and BAM! it suddenly unleashes on your unsuspecting palate a military stampede of mediterranean machismo, muscular power and passion, storming through on a red carpet of velveteen tannins, acid-backboned, overwhelming, unashamed and implacable, spreading rapidly to every corner of your mouth and mind. It takes a second to register what has just happened but by that point it’s too late and you realise that you've just been sucked in and stormed by a devastatingly hedonistic wine.
Drink now to 2030.
The post-arrival price will be $54.95. Today's pre-departure price is $44.95.

6. Dauvergne Ranvier Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019.
Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre blend.
Ebullient Grenache fruit that sings from the glass, spicy whole bunch interest, medicinal, sour cherry jam, cloves and smoke, while the palate is sappy with fine chewy tannins, voluminous body and very hearty structure all the way through a long and satisfying finish. Completely seductive and indulgent. Classic CNDP from a cranking vintage.
Drink now to 2030.
The post-arrival price will be $72.95. Today's pre-departure price is $59.95.
